Waffle SoleRemember When……we use to run on waffles? Well at least those of you who are ….shall we say well seasoned like me might, you know like Trimoot, HA HA.

This week instead of running on waffles were going to be Running, or jogging, or walking FOR WAFFLES…YUMMMMY

Tina is graciously hosting the first annual Run For Waffles Event from her lovely home this saturday starting at 9:00 am. Here is what she has to say.

Make your plans to join us this Saturday at 9 am for our first annual “Run for Waffles” event. Anyone running, walking or jogging will be entitled to a free waffle (or 2 or 3 or…) at my place after the run/walk.  We’ll meet at my home, 527 E. Baldwin and run from there along the river course.  We’ll have a chance to visit with a warm cup of something when we get back and you can cash in on your hard earned waffle/s.
So Come one Come all, bring a friend a family member and yourself  this saturday and have a great time, we will be heading down to the beautiful centennial trail, you can go east of west and get an eyeful of the beautiful fall colors along the river while enjoying great fellowship.

We met this week for the first annual 5k PUMKIN PACER halloween costume race in Deer Park WA. on halloween itself. WHAT A BLAST THAT WAS!!! Check out the group that showed up below,  SCARY arnt they? imagine if they had dressed up HA HA HAJacksparrow and group

There were probably a couple hundred or more people participating in the event, dressed in various creatures, characters and some as themselves OHHHH creeepy. There were telitubbies, Zombies, Surgeons, super heros, the whole gambit of oddities there, It was such a riot. Tina was laughing constantly at all the great costumes. We had great weather for the time of year, Sunny, cool and at times windy, but considering the storm we had the night before we couldent of asked for better.

The race directors handed out all kinds of swag in the way of door prizes and best costume prizes, some very cool stuff, from some very cool sponsers, thank you to all who contributed.  I managed to squeek by the awesome snake charmer in a final walk off between the two of us to win first place in the adult male best costume prize, whew, thats me as Jack Sparrow in case you dident put that togeather.JackSparrow walk off[1]

I got a great prize of a gift card to Clinerdaggers and a pair of Smart Wool socks, very cool, pretty good for going to Value Village the day before to put my costume togeater dont you think? Check out some of the other costumes in the back ground.

Over all it was a great day and way too much fun with lots of great comradery from all the participants and organizers. Looking forward to doing it again next year. Hummm Maybe I should start on next years costume now after all I have a title to defend, HA HA I finally won something at a race!! YOOO HOOOO. Yeah like thats going to happen, i will be panicing again the day before just like this year. The best intensions always go awry.

I hope more of you can join us next year, the more the merrier as they say.

Well signing off for now

Wow, its been a long dry spell since ive been here, the group kinda went their own ways during the summer. But WERE BACK, yea! Im not real sure what everyone has been up too, but Paul AKA Trimoot, comrade in pain Jerry and his wife Dawn,  and myself have been on a journey of endurence building, we started to build up a base to be prepared to participate in next years CDA Ironman. WHAT are we nuts? Well yes we are but that has nothing to do with this, HA HA.  So anyway we spent around 10 weeks of the summer doing full Tri workouts on our saturdays mostly at the fish lake area along the Cheney Spokane road.  It was an excellent place to stage our “mock” Tri’s. We finished out our season over at Nolte State Park at the Black Diamond Half IM and meet our perspective goals. Paul totally Kicked tail, give him a big YA HOO and congrates. you can see more of what we have been up too if you check out his blog.

So for the next two saturdays we have put together plans for runs, i will insert Ms T’s email here…..

 Hey Runners,

GUESS WHAT?  We are resurrecting the running group JUST in time for winter!  Woo-Hoo!  We are kicking things off this very Saturday, Oct. 24 at 9 am from my home, 527 E. Baldwin.
And get this, just to entice you to join us, Trevor will be brewing up your favorite coffee drink with his espresso machine after the run back at my place.  We’ll be throwing in some special treats as well so come and enjoy the food, fun and fellowship.  Fun, huh? We thought so!
Directions to my place:
I am in the Gonzaga University district so if you’re coming north on Ruby from downtown, go east on Baldwin (one block north of Indiana).  Baldwin will dead end at Fourth Memorial and I’m the last house on the left at the intersection of Baldwin and Standard.
If you are coming north on Hamilton from the freeway, go to Indiana and go west to Standard.  Take a right on Standard and the house will be one block north on the northwest corner.
Any questions, give me a call at 251-1616.
ONE MORE THING:  On Halloween Saturday, we’ll be doing the Pumpkin Pacer 5K in Deer Park.  You can register on race day from 8:30-9:30 am and the run begins at 10 am.  It’s a costume run so have fun dressing up!
See you Saturday!
tina
So come join us one and all, we would love to see you  there, catch up with old friends and meet some new ones.
I cant wait its been long overdue, and its been so nice to go out on a workout without a hard core goal each and every time, Of course come January the real IM training begins but for now its time to PLAY

For those of you who have had Bloomsday creep up on you this year, join us this Saturday for a little confidence boost!  We’ll take off from the Gonzage parking lot just south of McCarthey Athletic Center at 9 am!  We’ll start out slow and slowly taper off oh, for a good mile or so and call it a day!  Trust me, you’ll feel GREAT and have the confidence to tackle Doomsday like the elites!  Remember running is 50% physical and 80% mental!

We’d love your company this week  – it’s going to be a “no-weather-excuse” day so break out the shorts and show your pasty white legs with the rest of us!

See you there!
